Paul Feist

Feist has served 25 years as a sworn police officer, advancing to the rank of Deputy Chief of Police. Some of his key accomplishments include effectively overseeing the Family Advocacy Center and Metropolitan Forensic Science Center providing oversight on criminal and administrative investigations to include the School Resource Officer (SRO) Unit. His experience and expertise include increased quality, regulation compliance and networking with internal and external partners by implementing and managing quality control measures, support databases and standard operating procedures with a focus on establishing best practice protocols.

He has served as an Executive Board Member of the New Mexico High Intensity Drug Trafficking Administration and the Drug Enforcement Advisory Council. He served as a Board Member of the Metropolitan Crime Stoppers, New Mexico Identity Theft Resolutions, Second Judicial District Advisory Committee on Juvenile Crime. He further served as a New Mexico Mediation member providing mediation services for workplace disputes.

Feist is a graduate of the University of New Mexico with a Master’s Degree in Public Administration and an undergraduate degree in Biological Anthropology.

AssociationsFeist has certifications in Incident Command and National Incident Command Systems. He has completed many courses in Emergency and Crisis Response and multiple courses through the Federal Emergency Management Association and the Department of Homeland Security. He holds a certified professional designation in Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED).
